Absurdities/BedAbsurdities/Bed
By JM Golder/Paul Richards

Absurdites is a collection of sketches/short plays based on a theme of oppositeness - what happens when the victim of a stick-up turns out to be the bad guy; how does a guy who hates Hollywood become a film critic; what have two drunken yobs to say about world peace. Bed, which Michelle Golder script-edited, is about the travails of a likely lad who wakes up next to a woman he's never met, in a city he's never visited. Debuted at the Corpus Playrooms, Cambridge before a successful run at the Brighton Fringe Festival. Directed by Holly Race.

Sexual IroningSexual Ironing

A clutch of seven short pieces about man/woman relationships. There's one about two girls in Playboy bunny outfits, who discover that sometimes the clothes don't make the girl; several about couples - a couple arguing about dirty language, a chap giving his girlfriend a massage, a very bad blind date, a girl who wants to know her boyfriend's favourite sexual fantasy (always a big mistake). There's a very dark playlet about a prostitute who finds a man with a knife. And there's one about what a girl does when she thought she was doing the dumping, but finds out she was actually dumped. Some of the pieces are raunchy, some are dark, some are bittersweet - but all are witty and engaging. Debuted in a production directed by Holly Race at the ADC Theatre Cambridge to a sell-out audience. Continued to a short week's run at the Etcetera Theatre, Camden as part of the Camden Fringe Festival.
